Day 2

I wake up. Stretch. It's warm. Then I remember. Island. I'll split from the group tomorrow. I eat a pack of noodles. Lets go swimming. Jordan, Sean and Isaac aren't up yet. So I hide my pack and life raft. I start swimming. The water is cold but I don't mind. I dive down I swim in to open door. James' and his crew have destroyed the place looks like there's nothing left. Then something catches my eye. A sparkle of light, a glint of plastic, a luggage tag. With the bag in my hand I swim to the air bubble in the back of the plane. I take a deep breath of clean air. I opened the bag, my luck strikes it water proof. James' people haven't taken everything. I dive my hand into the bag and take: a water proof survival blanket, insect repellent and a water bottle. I put them back in. But rethink and take out the blanket. This may be useful. I go up to the cockpit, but there's nothing here. O'well. I take a breath and have one last look at the plane. I swam back to the island grabbed my pack and pulled the lift raft out. I started rowing just as the group woke up. Sean saw me first and gave a yell of alarm. Sean and Jordan just stood there, Isaac came running after me. Out of anger or terror I would never know. He never caught up with me. I carried on paddling with my hands until I reached a nice little bay. Something strange I noticed, that unlike other beaches the two I had seen on this island had absolutely no driftwood.

Day 1

Where all packed onto a bus. It's small so we have to go 3 per seat. I'm squished between Issac and Woodcock. Woodcock is telling the class to be quite, Isaac is staring absent minded out the window of the bus. What a great start to out trip to Matainui. I cant help but feel that I have been though this before. When we got to Kawhai harbor we boarded the Gunman albatross HU 16 carefully. The take off was slow and bumpy. I knew that the girls were scared, the boys were trying to be brave. Finally we were in the sky. The plane was about as small as the bus. But we at least have enough room to move. A familiar voice comes over the intercom "OK we are up in the air. This will be a 10 minute flight so, I will tell you your timetable for Matainui now. First when we land got to your assigned groups. Find a spot and stay there 'till the rest arrive. Then once Mr Woodcock has made sure where all there, you can depart or stay on the beach. On day 6 go to the lake so we can make sure your OK. Then again you can go or stay and talk to your friends. The trip will end on day 14. Meet at t-" He cut of there. "Mayday, Mayday!!' The class started screaming. The plane started falling. The water got closer. Grayson tried to get up and run to the front of the plane, so did Mr Woodcock. Just as Woodcock started running we were lifted up. out of our seats. James yelled "What the bloody hell's happening!" I blacked out.
As I awoke I saw Kim tying Haylee's waist to hers. She saw me sitting there. "Cairo we have to get out of here" she said in a frantic voice. "What the hell happened" I heard my self mumble, "the plane crashed into the ocean. I think we are the last ones in here." Go quick, I'll be fine. She jumped out of the slowly sinking plane wreck. I grabbed my bag and prepared to jump when I thought of something that may help. I walk to the cockpit. I pull the emergency life raft out and take it to the door. I pull the cord. It inflated really quick. I see a few people struggling to shore, even more on the beach. I had to start paddling with my hands. It took me about 10 minutes to get to shore. After that I had planned to go loner the whole trip. But once I got to shore, I couldn't help but walk up to Issac and ask to stay with his group for a few days. "Sure, can you go get some good fire wood?" I took a little walk around gathered some wood. Talked to a few other groups. When I got back the first thing I heard was and argument. From what I could tell, Issac wanted to get the radio but Jordan and Sean didn't agree. "We could be rescued, in days" Issac said "Where going to be rescued anyway once day 14 is over" I walked off so they wouldn't include me. By 4:00 they had settled it. We would go out to the plane but Issac would carry the radio himself. Jordan and I would go get items to help us survive. It had been a long day so we would go out there tomorrow morning. James and his group had already gone out. Good thing I already got the life boat. 5:00 we ate dinner 2 protein bars. Yay. Then I noticed Issac had no bag. To bad for him. I was tired and sore so I went to bed early.

The start

This is the blog that I will rewrite my old Matainui experience. I will change what I think I could have done better starting from day 1. This will be a holiday project, so don't expect me to do it during school terms.
